    Fan controller

    Hi!

I'm new here as I discovered this web site via your Youtube capsule that I appreciate!

I'm a little bit on an Hurry.

My sunbeam rebus Extreme failed and I need a replacement.

The lamptron Pc5 seem to be a good bet.
I need something reliable that could easily supply 3 X 12v 0.6 amp for each canal. So 1.8 amp total.

    RE: Fan controller

    Hi Mavvens,
    on first welcome on CT!
there are a lot of rheobus for that power(0.6 amp aren't a high request)..
The fc5 is a good choice but the rev 1 have a really unreadable LCD, for nexth version(rev 2) that will fix this problem, you nedd to wait some weeks.
    Another really nice product is the Scythe kaze master Pro;
six channel with 1 amp each one an the possibility to switch off the fan.
Here you can find our review:

also translated in english with google(if you need other lenguages just press the flag that you need from the menu):

and these are the compatibility and stressing video:

    RE: Fan controller

Really I don't care really about The LCD witch is pretty much a gadget for my use... What do I need is a durable fan controller for my scythe kaze 133 cfm 3000rpm fan.

With the Scythe model I need to use the cable supplied by them, witch seem to be a small 4 pin connector (cpu type). But I could use the floppy connector (good?). And I will need to connect each fan for each button. Not really a problem but I would prefer to connect them to 1 button.

With the PC5 the connector is directly a 4 pin Molex connector, plus 1 got the ability to control 3 fan with 1 button. I got the trouble of routing the cable trough the entire case but I got good power (I think?!)

If you say that the scythe would be more reliable than the Lamptron, well you made my choice.

NB: The lamptron and the scythe model are available for me.

    RE: Fan controller

ok, if you wanna put all your fans inside a single channel for controlling all the products(uk 3k rpm) with a single potentiometer you need the Lamptron; the scythe can just have a single ultra kaze 3k on each connector due to the ampere request.
Concerrning the power supply connection of the Scythe I don't know if a floppy cable will fit inside it, i need to check it.

both controller are good products, just chose the one that you like more

    RE: Fan controller

    I have chosen the Scythe.

Less expensive for me, and it don't have a flashy panel that I don't need!

    RE: Fan controller

    I really like it.

Nice finish touch, lcd isn't super bright. I like the fact that I could monitor the Speed of the fan and Temps. But I have a doubt if I will really use this feature (the hassle to stick them in place...).
I don't really need an LCD period (to keep the look of the PC). Give me 6 buttons, a black metal finish touch and good parts and I'm in. That's it!
Like I mentioned above, I'm looking for durability! If the controller have more feature that I need it's a bonus, nothing more!

There is a Zalman model that show the wattage consume but the PC. That I really found it useful for Overclocking or Underclocking.

So now I got Scythe fan with Scythe controller...
    YAY!
    ^^
